So far, I've only had my Back-To-Basics Popcorn Popper for 2 weeks and have used it twice. Since my popper pot was a little distorted, I had some difficulty in getting the lid to sit properly, in which the photos on the box and within the instructions were difficult to see even with my reading glasses. But eventually I secured the lid on properly.

The first time I used this popper I used 3 table spoons of oil (as the directions state 1-3 tablespoons). But I made the mistake of using a little more than 1/2 cup of corn and letting it pop a bit longer to pop as many kernals as possible. As a result, even though I constantly rotated the arm while poping, some kernals burned at the bottom and even with steel scrub pads and later vinegar, I could not remove the burnt spots.

The second time I used this popper I was much more successful and learned a couple of tricks. 1st, use slightly less corn (< 1/2 cup), which will be more than enough. 2nd, as soon as the majority of the copping is complete, stop turning the crank and immediately remove it from the stove. 3rd, be quick to pour the popcorn into a bowl, but be careful not to burn yourself in the process. 4th, put on your favorit toppings (specialty salt and/or little or a lot of warmed popcorn oil topping). 5th, relax and enjoy that wonderful movie with great popcorn.

Besides the fun of popping your own corn, it's healthier than the microwaveable popcorn.
