Having struggled with writing (actually, not writing) for years, I found this book a refreshing new approach. I picked it up at a bookstore on my way to the airport, next thing you know I had 5 notebooks filled with writing on a variety of projects.

Since writing is a very particular endeavor, I can see how this approach might not be for everyone. Having co-authored one book already (and being in the middle of two more) I have found this book full of incredibly useful tools.

I can't say that this book provided a lot of new information to me - most part of it can be inferred just from common sense and knowledge of some time-management techniques. Probably "How to write a lot" is excellent not because of it contents, but because of references to other "how to write well" books. Also I liked chapter about style a lot - it contains many useful hints in a very small amount of pages. But probably the best insight was the explanation that you do not need a lot of inspiration in scientific writing - it is not like writing novels or poetry. And it's even proved by some statistics!

So, I would highly recommend this book - it is easy to read and techniques given here are easy to use.

The product is great. I use to be able to get it at a local store. I can't any longer which is why I went through amazon.com. However, the packaging was awful. I'll look outside amazon.com. the next time I want to purchase the product. The box was torn, smashed and both ends of the box busted open. Luckily the product is non-breakable. I guess whoever mailed it knew that.
