![]() Wish #3 (v. 3) $9.99 I just finished reading this book the other day and found it to be beautiful. Our young angel has still not figured out her love for the doctor and she has been called back to heaven! Also included are two extra stories. One about the devil who loves to hate our favorite angel. the other tells the tale about how Hisui meets her devil of a lover. This tale about Hisui is a great story for Wish lovers and people who just love the romance that Hisui is not aloud to have. Enjoy=) ![]() Wish $18.97 In just doing a generic search for artists I've been waiting for some solo efforts on, lo and behold, one came up for Sutton Foster. I'm so surprised I didn't know about this sooner, as this album has been out since Feb 2009. I met Sutton once after one of her final performances in "Thoroughly Modern Millie" (seeing her perform twice during the run, with the first time being opening weekend). My one question was "Will you be recording a solo album soon or is one in the works?" Her reply then was, "I'd like to and hoping to do one soon." All these years later after several other cast albums and guest appearances, her debut CD is here, and it is a delight. After sampling songs, I had to run to B&N to see if it was there, and it was. Sutton can really sing anything, and it really shows on this collection of songs. There are sweet ballads, fun jumpy numbers and a couple of of witty ditties which ignite Sutton's great comic timing in song. Listen to "Air Contitioning" and you'll hear why. Sutton covers the Great American Songbook, Broadway, pop, you name it. All delightfully done. I like happy surprises and this is a great one for me. ![]() Wish, Vol. 4 $9.99 In all honesty, this story can barely compare to other mangas of similar storyline. This series can barely hold a candle against Ah! My Goddess or Ceres, just to name a few. I don't see how the sad portion of the ending makes any sense to anyone, *spoilers* the guy is only 28... *end spoilers* I just didn't feel myself make any emotional connection with any of the characters and that their potential could have been much greater. The love between a devil and an angel, the love between the two main characters, and even the development of the secondary characters all could have been much more expanded on. Conclusively, this series falls short in comparison to both CLAMP's work and other similar series. ![]() Wish: Wishing Traditions Around the World $16.99 All around the world little children traditionally have different ways of wishing for things. Also, different cultures have "lucky symbols" such as a dolphin, a key, a rabbit, a ladybug and many more. In this book you can search through the pictures to see if you can find the hidden symbols. We go on a long journey through many countries: Australia, Brazil, China, Guatemala, India, Iran, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Russia, South Africa, Thailand, and, of course, the United States! "We tie our wishes to bamboo the seventh of July as children look for starts that tell a story in the sky." This is a unique and very interesting book. The artwork is very colorful, busy and a young child can tell you the story by looking at and pointing out what is going on in the lovely artwork. Can you guess which nation ties their wishes to bamboo? |
