Hi, I am almost always very pleased with Amazon. This time, I was far more than pleased. I ordered this with Free Shipping and I had it in 3 days. The Wayne Water Systems VIP50 1/2 HP 2,500 GPH Submersible Utility Water Pump is perfect for what I needed. I have an in ground swimming pool and I wanted to drain it. It's about 22 thousand gallons. It is whisper quiet and pumps up 10 feet and out 100 with a great flow rate. The Little Giant hose kit (separate) is pretty cheap plastic that is hard to keep unrolled, but it did serve it's purpose. I actually hooked that together with my pool vacuum hose to get plenty of length and the pump had no problems. The pump is a Great item at a great price. Don't expect much from the hose, but it does pass a lot more water than a garden hose would. I was surprised at how small the pump is, looks bigger in the pictures, but it puts out like it is huge!

I bought this pump to use in a homemade NFT hydroponic garden. It is strong, quiet, and adjustable. It is quite powerful for its size. There is sufficient flow, force and water volume to build a nice tabletop waterfall or fountain. It appears to be strong enough to use as a replacement pump in a common birdbath, although, for my purposes I am only piping water as high as 18".
