![]() Creative Visualization $18.99 People in our culture have become highly "goal oriented". In the words of author Shakti Gawain, Nowadays people want to first achieve, in order to feel better. What usually happens after the goal has been accomplished in this way, is that a lingering feeling of emptiness pervades, simply because the goal was reached against the natural flow of Universal Intelligence; i.e. that of first being happy in one's own, naked skin, in order to move to bigger and better things. The concept of Universal Intelligence is inherent to every human being and, even if one has never heard about it, it does not seem foreign as one logically interprets its meaning. Gawain compares life to a flowing river, where most people eagerly try to hold on to its banks in order not to be washed by the current, when in all actuality, people should let go and flow with it, taking in everything the journey has to offer, and in so doing still directing their own course through life, while at the same time being transported by its natural flow. The book provides several exercises and techniques to perform while practicing creative visualization. My favorite one is the "pink bubble", when one imagines something one really wants to happen and then pictures it enclosed into this imaginary pink bubble, while mentally sending the wish into the void. Another one of my favorite techniques is the use of what Gawain calls "treasure maps", i.e. the use of images as constant, visual reminders of what we want to achieve. This is a book to test, savor and enjoy. Its benefits can be plentiful with practice and my personal suggestion is to keep it at hand, re-read and consult it as necessary in order to keep reaping continuous benefits. ![]() Data Visualization $69.00 I bought this book for a course that hasn't started yet, so I haven't looked at the book in depth. However, I already know the field to some degree and from leafing through the book it looks pretty good. Most impressive, though, is that every page is a full-color glossy-finish print. (Expensive, but beautful!) ![]() Creative Visualization: Use the Power of Your Imagination to Create What You Want in Your Life $25.00 I had a paperback version of "Creative Visualization," which I thumbed through 'til I practically wore the cover off. It just helped hold focus on so many parts of life. I found a car I wanted that way. I am writing this review on a "touch screen" computer that I pictured myself using. I learned to use visualization for several goals from work to relationships, and I'm learning to apply new aspects of it as each day goes by. The paperback didn't come with the "meditation CD," so that is certainly an added benefit of the hard-cover pack from Amazon. (It's one more way to help me hold focus on the visualizations I engage.) I love this product! I use some part of the pack every day. I generally read the book in morning quiet. The CD gets its work-out in the evenings, as I am winding down. I would heartily recommend it to anyone who wants to explore goal achievement from a more intuitive method of "inner exercise." ![]() Creative Visualization Meditations (Gawain, Shakti) $12.95 This author's philosophy is that you can have whatever you want by just by wanting it. Sounds ridiculous, doesn't it? Remarkably, I listened to it a number of times before realizing how bad it was. |
