Also was not prepared for shipping cost which was almost as much as the item. Amazon's confirmation showed no such cost. All ibn all this was an unpleasant experience. I said, "Okay, if you can promise me the Australian Karate guy who wrote it won't cry if I don't like it." No need to cry, I liked it. A jujutsu-trained thug wrangler who's only concern in martial arts is whether it will help keep me alive in a modern jail was thoroughly impressed by a book on obsolete training equipment for an art I don't even study. That's a good book. I've never seen most of this information in any other sources. And the equipment isn't obsolete, even if it is made out of stone and straw rope. The tools Mr. Clarke describes not only seem effective, but they look integrated completely with the art they were designed to augment. You don't get strong and then try to adapt your strength to your karate, you get strong doing things that are karate. That's cool. Even holistic. I'll be doing some alterations to the striking post in my backyard |
