What the demand was for creating this cover, I'm guessing was probably rather close to nothing, but the two post-hardcore sensations decided to give their spin to the song. Besides the rough vocals, I don't know exactly what is different between this song and the cover, since they cover the song, note for note, and try to match the general vocal pattern. But they do give a good modern sound to the song, and I'm digging it.

Their fans however will of course, cringe, since there's no post-hardore to be found, no anger, or screaming, but there is some emoness going on. In fact, the song is largely radio-friendly, appealing to the modern rock crowd with every chord. I'm guessing the restrained sound was because this was a charity track for the 2005 Tsunami relief, and you can't be real angry with that. So if you alienate your fans, and you're not getting the fans or the original song, then you've limited your audience to a rather small segment. I don't even know if the song's proceeds are going to charity any more. But if you like the 30-second sample, then you'll probably dig the song. I'll just dig it in my little hole.
