 SolidWorks 2009 Tutorial with MultiMedia CD $69.95 This is an exceptional SolidWorks book. I've been trying to learn SolidWorks on my own; using the SolidWorks Tutorials, visiting blogs, and going to local SW user group meetings. This book, with its multi-media CD is priceless. The CD covers the SW interface, the commandmanager, and all of the basic features and sketch tools. The book is written in a way that both informs you and provides the needed knowledge on SolidWorks and design intent techniques. It is also written in a way that I can find and actually understand what the author is trying to say. He does not ASSUME anything. This is what I need! Great book in all areas.  Data Analysis: A Bayesian Tutorial $50.00 This book is not really a tutorial for beginners as it goes directly into the subject. It is well written, rigorous, and not that expensive for people needing to learn the bayesian principles. For total beginners as I was, I would advise reading "Introduction to Bayesian Statistics" by Bolstad before this one. A good book on the topic, with good ideas and recent developments !  GIS Tutorial II: Spatial Analysis Workbook $79.95 This is a great book for those of us self teaching ourselves. Possibly not as good as the first tutorial - but deals with different subject matter. This is a relatively inexpensive way to pick up things you would never know.  The C++ Standard Library: A Tutorial and Reference $79.99 The paper quality of the book is bad. I read 120 pages so far and like the tutorial style. |
