 Encyclopedia of Counseling: Master reviewe and Tutorial for the National Counselor Examination, State Counseling Exams, and the Counselor Preparation Comprehensive Examination, Third Edition $55.00 Yes I passed, but to be sure I also got the feeling that nothing on the test was remotely close to what I studied for.. and then it dawned on me... Rosenthal's material is not set up so that test takers can merely use rote memory to recall theories, statistics, diagnosis, and other data. The exam is meant to test your ability to utilize and apply "Your own noodle" to real world scenarios a counselor/therapist could potentially encounter... as well as check to see if you really understand the material not just "remember it". So if your looking to merely regurgitate material in the same format as presented to you.. I'm sorry folks but that is simply not the point of this test. For those of you whom were thrown into left field wondering WTF when you took the exam.... hey I was right there with you lol... but when I look back (all of 9 hours and 13 minuets ago) LOL...I can honestly say that Rosenthal's material really does prepare you to tackle the material but the twist is that you'll be using your own common sense and brain power to achieve a fantastic score :). You will also walk away knowing that your a counselor on your own merit and not have to attribute the blood, sweat and tears to anyone else :). Ohhhh and how did I do... well let's just say I got well above the national average and am very pleased with Rosenthal's materials :). Best of luck to you all.  GIS Tutorial for Health (Updated for Arcgis 9.3) $79.95 This book is a workbook that guides the user through the functionality of Arcgis. The examples are clear. The only thing that I suggest is that in order to use this workbook for a course, there should be some time devoted by the instructor to lecturing about other aspects of GIS.  Data Analysis: A Bayesian Tutorial $50.00 This book is not really a tutorial for beginners as it goes directly into the subject. It is well written, rigorous, and not that expensive for people needing to learn the bayesian principles. For total beginners as I was, I would advise reading "Introduction to Bayesian Statistics" by Bolstad before this one. A good book on the topic, with good ideas and recent developments !  Tascam 2488 / MKII / Neo DVD Video Training Tutorial Help $34.95 This DVD tutorial is excellent. A must have for anyone purchasing the Tascam 2488 Neo. Building on the original Tascam 2488 DVD, it also includes updates for the 2488 MKII and the all new 2488 Neo. The DVD is easy to navigate and gives you the ability to quickly get familiar with all functions of the 2488 and goes well beyond the standard manual (which is not exactly all that user friendly). The host provides real-time, hands on instruction and clear how-to examples that will enhance your use of the 2488 and get you up-to-speed in no time at all. Highly recommended! |
