![]() Melissa & Doug Stacking Train $16.99 I was really surprised that my twin boys loved this train so much. They still play with it a year later and "drive" it around the room as well as stack the blocks and such. The blocks are really good quality which is good since my twins are under 2 and still like chewing on things.I don't remember what configuration the blocks were supposed to be in originally, but they don't care so either do I. It's a great imagination booster, develops the small motor skills (linking the trains and stacking the blocks on the pegs), and it gives us a chance to say colors shapes, etc. All around a really good toy. ![]() Melissa & Doug Wooden Train Cars Set $19.99 As one other reviewer has already pointed out, the cars are quite long and its easy for them to come off the track on sharp corners. The other issue is the way they are constructed, with pivoting trucks at the bottom of the train attached to the body by rivets. The bottom parts of the rivets hang down under the train and catch on places where the tracks are not completely level. Any track joint that sticks up a little bit or a countersunk screw that is not completely flush hits the train and makes it come off the rails. One could say the problem is with the track and not the train, but my son's set has several different brands of trains and this is the only set that has a problem on the track. I was excited to find a modern looking train to add to my son's set, but I do not think this train was the best choice. I don't recommend it, especially for younger kids who get frustrated when things don't work right. ![]() Save Me, San Francisco $11.94 Train is definitely back; Save Me, San Francisco is amazing and showcases Patrick Monahan's amazing, distinctive voice! Love the energy and heartfelt lyrics including the title track, Soul Sister and Marry Me! Can't wait to see these guys again live!!! ![]() Maxim Wooden Advanced Train Set with Bridge, 50-Pieces $36.99 The train and the extra parts are great and fun for my 2.5 year old son but the track has gaps between the pieces. The overall quality of the track is fair but the gaps and uneven cuts of wood were a big surprise for me when we opened the box on Christmas morning. He mostly just plays with the train by itself. I wanted to save money over buying Thomas but I think I would have been better off spending a little more money. |
