He doesn't have the best flow. However, this album is not to be slept on. I find this to be my favorite CM album because, well, it just doesn't feel as "street" as the others. I just feel very comfortable listening to it. Tru-Life purports to present a a day in the life of a Christian, and he touches many issues. As a producer who happens to rap, I think that he is infinitely better than P. Dummy and he is not egotistical like Kanye West. By the way, I think that he raps a lot LIKE Kanye. I don't really know what it is about this album, but if you're looking for one a whole family can listen to, then I think this one and Phanatik's are the best. One other thing that Tru-Life doesn't do is get too preachy. He just kind of talks to you...It feels almost as if this album was designed to reach individuals more than groups. Whatever it is, it works. Highlights include-- "Steppin Out"--great metaphorical song "Productive"--makes a great statement about why he's rapping and points out that beat-making is his first love "Choices"--A very smooth track to talk to the youth about living in sin: Read Psalm 119:9...for more on this... "I'm Still Workin"--We are all works in progress, an uplifting song...Remember Jesus is the AUTHOR and FINISHER of our faith. "If I Could"--The best lyrical track, but Tru-Life is overshadowed lyrically by the guests...however this isn't a big deal...he is a producer, and his verse, though lacking the lyrical beef of the other lyricists, has just as much DEPTH. "I Can't Wait"--Clever, witty, and simply stated. "Moments"--Flame comes in and does the hook, while Life does a nice job teaching us to value life. "Revisit it"--A good ending song. Somehow, someway, Tru-Life says just as much or more than any other CM rapper. I think he is the best artist because he is able to do it in a way that goes down easily. If only all lyricists could figure that out... God bless and keep you... Salih C. Alexander, Esquire ![]() International Trade, Factor Movements, and the Environment $175.00 This is a theoretical study of the relationship between international trade policies and environment policy, which has become a major theme in international policy disputes. Rauscher investigates whether free trade and globalizing markets are bad for the environment, or whether environmental policies can be used to improve international competitiveness. He also examines the political use of lax environmental regulation to help domestic producers. |
