After many years of fighting traditional cheap plastic child safety locks (we have a cat that likes to get into things too) and seeing our son still manage to pinch his fingers in doors (better than getting at chemicals or whatever, but still!), our pediatrician recommended these to us. They were easy to install, and he can't get the doors open at all, so no pinched fingers or getting at something he shouldn't. They also have a mechanism to keep the lock in the open position, like if you need to get in a cabinet a lot, or the kids are older and you don't need them anymore. I would however recommend keeping an extra key around in case one gets lost, or locked in a cabinet by accident.

This toy is a must have for all parents of toddlers. Our 17 month old boy had always been an OK sleeper, but recently he started waking up earlier and earlier in the morning...6:45am turned into 6:15am which soon became 5:30am. Needless to say this pattern was not working well for mom and dad, and we decided action was necessary to reverse the trend. We ordered this product but were skeptical whether our youngster would grasp the concept. Well he has taken to it like a duck to water....we set the bed time for 8pm and he'll watch it intently until the face turns blue, after which he knows its to time to get into his crib and sleep. We set the wake time for 6:45am and after a week or two of adjustment he's now reliably sleeping until the alarm goes off. On the few occasions he has risen before wake time, he'll just wait quietly in his crib because he now knows that blue face is 'night-night' time and he needs to wait until the face turns yellow. A real savior for our family.

The clock will be coming with us on our Thanksgiving and December travels. I only wish they would make a miniature 'travel' version that was smaller and lighter.

ok for money. Flat black is not actually black, its more of a brown/chocolate. i was surprised, it doesn't really matter to me though. decent quality. using it on my mid-2009 MBP 13. does not fit like a glove. some half inch empty space(height wise). width is ok. ofcourse, product is advertised for macbook, so thats expected.
