Kim as a character has been more cold and calculating in the other books. You see a different side of her in this one. The author keeps the story moving with the main plot lines. Who is Pandora? What caused the Dry Clouds? Who murdered Theressa Griffin? And others. I am also enjoying some of the sub-plots. I like how the author mixes action, mystery, and science fiction in her books. As a reader, she leaves me wanting more, more about the characters, more answers about the mysteries and puzzles she posses, and more the world of Shades of Gray itself. If she can keep the level of writing at this degree, the series should be very good.
