![]() "Cool Stuff" They Should Teach in School: Cruise into the Real World...with styyyle (jobs/people skills/attitude/goals/money) $14.95 I remember this book, but only wanting it. Did I buy it? I don't have it. Maybe my kids carted it off, but I doubt it. Keep track of everything you buy, folks. Some things slpi through the cracks in the brain. Still believe it would be a good book to have. ![]() Analyzing Performance Problems: Or, You Really Oughta Wanna--How to Figure out Why People Aren't Doing What They Should Be, and What to do About It $24.95 The book is clearly written, sustains the reader's interest with a number of case studies, and provides an excellent flow chart which allows the reader to follow the steps of analysis, chapter by chapter. The book is short, however, on providing solutions for some of the problems analyzed in the various case studies. More solutions and perhaps some exercises for the reader to try would have made this a better book. Also, the book tends to gloss over the thornier issues presented by individuals who have power in various organizations and who resist or sabotage attempted solutions to problems--it notes these situations, but does not address ways of dealing with them. ![]() Gang Violence: Why Should They Stop? Alternatives! $8.99 Shot in Los Angeles at several sites, including the Los Angeles County Coroners office, GANG VIOLENCE: WHY SHOULD THEY STOP? ALTERNATIVES! blends interviews with civic leaders, politicians, law enforcement officials, and current and former gang members. The purpose of the documentation is to challenge viewers to find creative and collaborative solutions to the African American youth gang problem in South Los Angeles and other areas affected by gang violence. |
