![]() Haier HLT71 7-Inch Handheld LCD TV $129.99 I bought this so I could have a "portable" digital TV, one that would pick up the new digital signals that replaced the analog signals [thus making my Casio 2-inch TV unusable.] I plugged in this TV, using the provided antenna, and scanned for channels. First try, got zero channels. Second try, shifted the attenna, got three channels. Then, I tried to view any of the three channels. All channels "failed to received broadcast." I tried another antenna and got four channels, different from the first three and got the same failure message. Out of frustration, I did what I was trying to avoid and attached my DTV converter box as the AV input. That worked. Problem is the TV is now attached to another plugged-in device, defeating the whole purpose of the portability I was seeking. So: Portable it is NOT!!!!! Luckily, I got this for a low price so I'm not as mad as if I had paid the higher price. I'll probably use a cable splitter and attach a cable wire to this as an additional TV. ![]() Haier HTR20 20" CRT TV $169.99 Good TV purchase for the price, plus the free shipping was a bonus that sold the TV. Good set for the bedroom or den. Would not be good for a large room. I was able to hook it up and progam the remote with little effort and had little trouble lifting the TV. ![]() Panasonic VIERA X1 Series TC-L32X1 32-Inch 720p LCD HDTV $599.95 I have been a big fan of Panny TVs for a while... I have (2) plasmas already, and I decided to go a bit cheaper with an LCD for the bedroom. It looks amazing (asthetically and picture-wise). ![]() Panasonic VIERA C12 Series TC-L32C12 32-Inch 720p LCD HDTV $549.95 If you are in the market for a great budget HDTV check this one out. At first what got me going was the price but the quality of the TV was the tipping point. I purchase this TV at the retail store because I want to compare the image with other TV sets like Samsung, Sony, LG, and others. So by comparing I was able to decide that for the money this was the best value quality ratio (at least for me) in my opinion this TV is very similar to those more expensive TV's like Sony and Samsung which cost $100 to $250 more. The only thing I don't like so much about this TV is the sound. To me it appear to be just "ok" I'm not one of those that need to have the best TV out there no matter the cost so I am really please with this one since it was cheap and the image is pretty great also the piano black finish looks awesome. |
