Mirren commands the role of Tennison with authority, intelligence, and a touch of overachieving desperation. Superb performances, excellent writing, and understated direction make this BBC miniseries one of the most involving mysteries in years. An action film rich with politics, espionage, and complicated characters, Traitor is an engrossing film in which the lines between right and wrong are anything but clear and the threats of terrorism and conspiracy across the globe seem startlingly real. Sadim Horn (Don Cheadle) is a devout Muslim, once trained and employed in engineering and explosives by American Special Forces, who has chosen to settle in Afghanistan. FBI agents Clayton (Guy Pearce) and Archer (Neal McDonough) begin investigating an uncooperative Sadim in an Afghanistan prison because of his connections with terrorist Omar (Saїd Taghmaoui) and, as events unfold, uncover ties between Sadim and several international bombing incidents. As agents Clayton and Archer follow Sadim around the world, Sadim's dedication to his faith becomes abundantly clear, as does his involvement in an international bombing conspiracy. What's less than clear in all the contradictory evidence is the nature of Sadim's role in the conspiracy--specifically, which side he's really fighting for. Traitor is an action-packed, suspenseful film with strong acting talent, a disturbingly real message, and stellar Blu-ray picture and sound that puts viewers right in the middle of the action. Born Suspect

A chunk of raw Rock, before he hit the big time with Saturday Night Live, HBO, and everything else. This CD was recorded at a 1991 gig in Atlanta, and while it lacks the polish and daring of his later hit Roll with the New, it has plenty of laughs to satisfy his fans. Born Suspect has some nice Rock riffs on his life back then: "Minimum wage means that we would pay you less if we could, but it's against the law!" and "Don't you hate it when your boss asks you 'How ya doin'?' You know exactly how I'm doin'--bad!" Plus, he makes fine fun of Washington, D.C., mayor Marion Barry: "Now you can't tell your kids, 'Don't smoke crack, or else you won't be nothin'.... 'Well, I could be mayor." Though on Born Suspect Rock is unpolished, a little self-indulgent, and not as razor-sharp as he later became, the disc is nevertheless worth a listen, if only to get a glimpse of this great talent. --Michael Gerber
