When it honestly has came down the music out there lately, there just hasn't been much when there are definitive songs right now. Even those like Daughtry who had broke out from the shadow from American Idol haven't been able to score a high note. The band's latest single No Surprise, doesn't feel like it honestly is as invigorant as was the case with hard core fans when they broke out a few years ago. I felt that the song wasn't over the top at all. I just thought the song honestly didn't measure up to the feeling they had on songs like What About Now? or Home had. Hopefully, the next single from Daughtry can strike the louder Rock notes that could've been expected.

As if the books were not enough enhanced by Ridley Scott's wonderful movie with its recreated "Surprise" , now we have a sumptuous book - a visual and textual feast about what is fast becoming the most famous "factional" ship in the Royal Navy of the Napoleonic era. Now we know the full history of "Surprise" using archival material and the beautiful art work of Geoff Hunt. Many of the images in the book will be familiar to Aubrey aficionados but it is a joy to have them all in one place. A careful text sets out the history of the ship both fatual and fictional with additional information that will delight the readers of O'Brian who wish to "dig deeper" than the text of the novels. Highly recommended and a book to which I frequently return

Samara Murphy spent a thrilling week in Jamaica in the arms of Connor O'Riley. Not one to indulge in flings, she was dumbfounded to find herself pregnant and alone. They had an understanding that it was just for her vacation, and she in fact had no way to contact him. When she told her best friend and doctor Macayla, she encouraged Sam to try to find a way to contact him because he deserved at least to know. Everyone else had similar beliefs, so she got the phone number to the resort they had stayed in, and left word for him to get in touch with her about something important.

Connor O'Riley was recovering from a gunshot wound from his last mission with the DEA that went horribly wrong. There was something wrong. Missions were falling apart, and his records had been tampered with. He was planning on recuperating at the resort in Jamaica when he heard Samara was trying to find him. She was the first woman that he could not get out of his head, and had been thinking about her constantly. He decided his next stop was Connecticut to see her. He wasn't expecting the news of her pregnancy, and handled it abominably. When someone broke into her home, and then left a dead carcass on her porch, he thought it was a way to be around her for her protection. The strong connection they shared on vacation was still there only more intense. He also didn't hate the idea of becoming a father especially with Samara. As the attempts against her escalated, he realized that he was the target, but they were using Sam to get his attention. The more time Connor spent with Sam, the more he wanted to be there, but first he had to find out what was going on, and make sure they stayed safe.

I enjoyed Connor and Samara. They had really good chemistry, and developed a strong bond that was refreshing. Well-developed and well-written characters made this a must read! This story will keep you on the edge until the very end.

This is a great album from start to finish. I sing "Father and Daughter" to my girl alll of the time. It's precious. "Wartime Prayers" is a powerful song at just the right time. In fact, I can't find a weak spot on the album. Brian Eno's input really compliments Paul Simon's songwriting and the mixing is amazing. "Another Galaxy" is possibly my favorite. GIVE IT A CHANCE!!!
