![]() Stopping: How to Be Still When You Have to Keep Going $14.95 This book illustrates how simple concepts of stopping, deliberately and totally, can be as effective, if not more effective than even psychological analysis. We just get wound so tight that we are moving and moving quickly, but have little if any direction. I'm only about half way through but have been able to note and implement many techniques that have made a difference in my life, some just as easy as correct breathing. I would recommend this book to anyone who doesn't have the time to read it! ![]() Antibiotic Resistance: Stopping the Superbugs (Home Use) $24.95 Antibiotics was once seen as super drugs. They rapidly disarmed pneumonia and many other previously fatal bacterial conditions, and had relatively few side effects. But the bacteria weren't ready to surrender yet. Strains emerged that were resistant to the world's most potent medicines and now we're facing a world-wide crisis. In this program we see how the problem developed and what the experts believe we need to do to win the battle. This program is part of the award winning public television series Healthy Body, Healthy Mind. This product is manufactured on demand using DVD-R recordable media. Amazon.com's standard return policy will apply. ![]() Testament $18.98 This is a wonderful recording of the "Testament of Freedom" of Randall Thompson, as well as the "Song of Democracy" of Howard Hanson. The music gives such strength to the beautiful texts. The performances rival those of the old, now sadly unavailable, Howard Hanson, Eastman/Rochester choral renditions. I have long searched for a good duplication of that recording, and now have thankfully found it with the Turtle Creek performance. These pieces were originally written for Men's Chorus, in the case of the Hanson, for the Eastman School of Music Men's Chorus, and the Thompson, for the Harvard Glee Club. They do not fare well in any other choral settings. So, as long as this disc is available, it is well worth acquiring. |
