Who usually takes something upon which the plot revolves around - Cheetah! And, whose mug do you see at the end of the picture? Is it Tarzan's, Jane's, or Boy's - no it is Cheetah's! So then, why is Cheetah not listed in the film credits? When told of this injustice, Cheetah went bananas and bleated, "Ee ee ooh ooh ah ah ah!", which roughly translates to, "Why those blankety-blank chauvinistic human ..." Oops, decorum prevents me from translating further. Fortunately, Cheetah doesn't have all the fun. Humans get to have fun too in Tarzan's Desert Mystery. Unfortunately, there is no mystery in this mystery, so I will add a little here. When you get to the close-up of Jane's letter, hit pause. Don't just cross your fingers hoping you can discern its meaning, use the Jane Code: " , t , ,gle, o , m ,say". In every movie, Tarzan saves a damsel-in-distress, but in this movie, ... well, Tarzan sees woman in trouble, she saw it differently. While in jail, Tarzan lapses into his native Ape talk - he was raised by Apes you know - telling Cheetah, "Nagona logo managooda!" Cheetah, not being an ape, looks confused. Boy quickly translates, "climb down and get lots of turbans!" The most fun to watch, Tarzan's Desert Mystery rates a 4. Tarzan and the Amazons ( Leave Us Alone!), Tarzan and the Leopard Woman ( Claws!), and Tarzan and the Huntress ( Zoos Need Animals!) are the typical Tarzan fare. They rate a 3. Tarzan Triumphs ( Nazi Radio Recoil!) rates a 2. Tarzan and the Mermaids ( The God Suit) is difficult to sit through. Too bad there are no mermaids. It rates a 1. The picture quality is good and the sound volume is lower than most DvDs.
