Good illustrations to suppport text. My 8yr old daughter takes private lessons and this book couples very well with her lessons. We take the book to the park sometimes to use the illustrations to enforce teachings and feedback. For the money, it is invaluable. The Maven 1,2,3 Basics video is also outstanding.  Basics 1-2-3: The Basics & Fundamentals for the Windmill Pitcher $19.95 This was one of the only DVD instructionals that didn't talk over my daughter's head. Coach Todd dosn't seem to worry so much about impressing you with his technical knowledge so much as he seems more interested in getting the girls excited about practicing and learning correctly. I've already bought this DVD twice because every time I lend it out, the person always offers to buy it from me. I wouldn't necessarilly recommend this DVD for advanced players, but for average 9-10 year old beginners, it PERFECT!  ATEC Pro Pitcher's Practice Screen with Stand $109.95 We use this as a target for the pitcher in batting practice in a backyard cage. It is sturdy, and is easy to use. Unlike net socks, the balls can be easily removed from the pouch at the bottom of the target. During one summer in the N.E., I have not noticed any rust, and even machine pitched balls at 85 mph do not damage the screen. Best product of its kind that we have used. |
