Unfortunately, that's true to a fault. It's nothing more than an unfunny rehash of the show, with Amy Poehler taking the role of Steve Carell's Micheal Scott. All of the other characters can be easily matched with their Office rip-off counterparts as well. I have only seen the first episode, and maybe I should have watched more, but I feel that a GOOD show will captivate you with just the first episode you watch. If you are looking for a great show to compliment The Office, watch 30 Rock. It's unique and has its own style that doesn't make you feel like you're watching a cheap cash-in. ![]() Barry Manilow In Concert - The Legendary 1978 Concert At The Greek Theatre (Special 30th Anniversary Edition) $45.98 The year was 1978. Barry was in the middle of a hot summer tour... playing outdoor amphitheaters around the US and getting ready to head for overseas. To cap off the summer, the Greek Theatre asked if Barry would play not one, but two weeks under the hot LA summer night, for more than 72,000 fans, all anxious to sing along to Copacabana, Even Now, Ready To Take A Chance Again... and an entire evening of hits. Now throw in HBO. You remember HBO... home of the Sopranos, Madonna, Springsteen, and Joel. But did you also know it was home of Manilow? Remember... 1978. There were only three networks - ABC, CBS, and NBC, and a host of local channels. HBO was new on the scene and wanted to rock the boat... and asked Barry to do the rocking. It was their first big music special... and they gambled on Barry. With a two hour Manilow Live At The Greek, HBO rocked. Everyone watched. And we mean everyone. So many that the networks felt a dip in their ratings and the first hint of what cable TV was going to do to their viewership. That moment in television history is now available in this limited edition DVD release. The DVD comes with a reproduction of the 1978 Tour Program, filled with great pictures, and classic jumpsuits. |
