![]() Tomorrow, When the War Began (The Tomorrow Series #1) $8.99 I was first introduced to these books by my old friend back in high school some years ago. Everyday, on our way to school, we met on the train and usually had a good goss session. But our daily chats went out the window once she started to read 'Tomorrow When the War Began' and instead, each morning I would find her nose buried within the world of Ellie. When she finally came up for air, she breathlessly told me to do myself a favour and start reading. And to make sure I started reading them in order. Her advice was one of the best gifts anyone has ever given me! I started reading her old dog eared copy, and then I was like an addict without a hit until I could get my hands on the next installment in the series. I'm not sure what I loved about it most - perhaps the realism of the setting and characters (Being from Australia, these were people and places that exist in every rural community)or the excitement that is never ending. Reading any of these 7 books is exhausting to say the least. You feel like you have been hiking for days on end, you feel the fear when they are trying to avoid patrols, the adrenalin rushes when they are about to undertake another dangerous mission. And then your heart breaks when things do not go according to plan. When one of your friends is taken from you by the violence of war. I read the complete series a couple of times a year and it never gets old. I still feel the same excitement and fear as though it was the first time I had ever picked up the books. Even on the fourth or fifth round of reading the books I find myself waking up in the middle of the night to go over 'just a few more pages' or waking up a couple of hours early to cram in a couple more chapters before work. Even if you are not much of a reader, do yourself a favour and give the Tomorrow series a whirl. And a little hint from someone who has been there, to avoid the nasty withdrawal symptoms, try to have the next one in the series waiting by. John Marsden is a star. If only I had half of his talent! ![]() Through the Looking Glass: The Drums Began... 28x42 Giclee on Canvas - Prints - 17134-0CG28 $475.00 Series: Alice in Wonderland Artist: John Tenniel Period: Illustration Art Source country: USA Source Year: Sir John Tenniel (1820 1914) was an English illustrator best remembered for his work in Lewis Carroll\'s Alice\'s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass. 28 inch by 42 inch Giclee print on Canvas.
