![]() Alesis SR16 Drum Machine $269.00 Although I sent several e-mails (as you can see below) to the person who sold this machine to me, after the correspondance of: "I'll definitely look it up and send it to you asap", I have never heard from him again. I bought this product as: "New" but was robbed of the manual. My suggestion, never buy from this person. So, today is five days. Is the manual on it's way? Ange ![]() Yamaha QY100 24 Track Sequencer $629.95 I got the QY-100 because I don't play keys but needed a full band sound for my demos (I play guitar and write songs). If you have the patience to dig into it, this little sequencer/sound module can do a lot! But the interface is not intuitive. I had to carefully read the manual and with a little trial and error, figured out the basic functions. One feature I like is being able to find a good style, mute the instruments I don't want to hear, enter a chord and style progression, and wa la! I have a song I can sing and play along with. But step editing is tedious and time consuming (then I should learn to play more instruments huh?) Still, this sounds much better than transposing loops in GarageBand. The sound quality is good. Some brass and windwood sounds are not convincing, but I do like the pianos, organs, and strings. If you are MIDI-savy, you can play these sounds using a keyboard or MIDI guitar via the MIDI input. Or you can have the internal sequencer play some musical phrases and record the MIDI track into your computer DAW software, then use it to play any of your software instruments. I found no use for the built-in guitar input and effects, just about any of my processors, hardware- or computer-based, sound better. The QY-100 can do what a Yamaha keyboard can do, without the keys, and that's why I got it. ![]() Sequencer $15.98 This is a very heavy beat dance type cd. Definately not for the faint of heart or those hard of hearing. =) This CD will fill a dance floor. Covenant never fails to please. ![]() From Score To Screen: Sequencers, Scores And Second Thoughts-The New Film Scoring Process $21.95 This book is the real deal. I have talked with film composers and music supervisors and everything they have told me is in this book. This book covers all sections of music in film from composer to orchestrator, conductor..... it covers it all. Great reference section in back of book. Has websites, schools, books, all kinds of useful references for film scoring. He also gives you examples of how to fix problems and what to try. great book! I am keeping this one for a long time to help me through my film scoring times. |
