 Search Engines: Information Retrieval in Practice $93.00 This is easily one of the best books I never read all the way through, but kept my attention long enough for the store manager to have to physically remove me from the bookstore cos I didn't have the cash to buy it. The library is in another building, sir. That's okay, I'm not a student here anyway. Is Bruce Croft related to Lara Croft?  Understanding Search Engines: Mathematical Modeling and Text Retrieval (Software, Environments, Tools), Second Edition $37.00 This book is condensed knowladge about the topic of search engines - but only the basics. I am very dissapointed because I thought I will see something special, inspiring. This book is good for beginners in search engines field but not for the money it costs now.  Google's PageRank and Beyond: The Science of Search Engine Rankings $39.50 The book is good at explaining the Google's pageRanking, and it try to present rigorious math proof to demonstrate the idea. It is good, however, the math part is not well organized, and it is not easy for people without linear algebra knowledge to follow it. Anyway, it is still good book to demonstrate Markov chain in pageRank.  Search Engine Optimization For Dummies (For Dummies (Computer/Tech)) $29.99 I felt that the book was very well written and informative. just the information that I was looking for |
