![]() The Ray Bradbury Theater - Complete Series (65 Episodes) $19.99 If you are paying 11 bucks for 65 episodes of Great Entertainment dont be picky. I found this Collection while i was looking for Twilight Zone dvds, For The same Cost of 4 episodes of The Twilight Zone, you can get this! Video Quality is not the best but it is Bearable, I would have paid at least $5 bucks extra if the set was on 8 or 9 Dvds ![]() Immortality $14.95 Another Kindle book I've devoured. I am missing the characters already - and wondering what happens to the "new tribes" after the dust has settled. This book blends fantastic scientific ideas and terminology with our modern day global dilemmas... and leaves us with a 'what-if' that gives chills. What a ride this book was. I hope for a sequel, to bring us up to speed with Mark, Carl, Sarah, and Kathy. And Ralph, the Rottweiler, too! Thank you for a fantastic trip! ![]() The Science Fiction Hall of Fame, Volume One $18.95 I thought this was no longer published. Thanks to all who got this back in print. Great stories from SF's early years. Five stars for the book, though it may be as much for the memories as for the quality and impact these have had. I admit I read all the stories in 1970's from a first edition (as I recall) and many of the stories stayed with me. Ideas. Points of view. Wit. And, uh, the darn fun. For a new reader interested in SF I think this part of a great starting point. May even cause some to think about writing. Highly recommended. ![]() SciFi Classics 50 Movie Pack Collection $29.98 Okay, if anyone out there has any nostalgic memories of watching old, low-budget flicks on some hoaky local station's "Chiller Theater" or just want to see some of the films that gave the guys on Mystery Science Theater 3000 plenty of comic material, then this set is for you. This isn't the good stuff as classic sci-fi goes; this is public domain, the "how-not-to-make-a-movie" stuff, even a low-budget one. Most sci-fi fans will be disappointed to find that some of these films are of a genre unrelated to sci-fi; some will make you gringe. I'm not going to go into a lengthy breakdown, but one clear case in point is Mesa of Lost Women; this laxative will have have you wanting to run. The movie is supposed to be a horror, but the real horror is the acting and music (which is part burnt-out mariachi, part "lady who plays piano for all the school plays"). The music will not let up on your nerves. One plus to this set is that it's the perfect cure for mild insomnia and why I affectionately refer to it as "cheese". Like cheese it... ages well, some of it really stinks, but too much will put you on lockdown. |
