![]() Western Digital Caviar Black 1 TB Bulk/OEM Hard Drive 3.5 Inch, 32 MB Cache, 7200 RPM SATA II WD1001FALS $108.99 I thought Western Black drive is better than green drives, therefore I ordered a black drive, but I unfortunately had a hard time with it while I formated it at the first time. So it was returned. Anyway, it is good for the customers who buy the hard drives because the price is getting lower and lower. ![]() Tripp Lite P944-06I Serial ATA (SATA) Power Cable - 6in $5.99 It seems like such an effort to get this feather-light item shipped to me to finish the job of installing my SATA 1TB drive, since getting it at a local store would have been much quicker and involve less "energy", it would seem. However, I honestly don't know of any store (mom and pop OR big box like Best Buy) that would supply such a cable. I was a little leery from the description wondering whether it would be exactly what I needed. I needed a power adapter to transfer from an LP4 female connector to the back of a new SATA hard drive. This was exactly what I needed - I was happy when I opened the package and saw the male LP4 plug, just like the picture showed. Yes, it *is* 6'' long so be sure you don't need more length than that before you commit to buy. I would recommend it, but then again if it "fits" your need, then it would seem there's really nothing much that could go wrong. ![]() Tripp Lite P940-19I Serial ATA (SATA) Signal Cable (19 Inches) $9.99 I originally purchased the Syba SY-CAB40006 cable in order to save a few bucks (I just needed to clone a hard drive and then reuse the old cable). When I received the Syba cable, it was not a SATA cable, it was a power cord! It wasn't the packager's fault, it had the correct serial number. Anyway, the SY-CAB40006 is under review by Amazon right now, and they agreed to credit my account $4.00 so I could purchase the Tripp Lite cable with overnight shipping. When it comes to cables, there's really not much to review, as others have mentioned. Is it the right cable? Yes Is it long enough? Definitely yes Does it work? Yes Does it have fiber optics that make your case glow? Nope. ![]() StarTech.com LP4 TO 2 SATA INTERNAL POWER ( PYO2LP4SATA ) $8.00 This does exactly what it says it will. I needed an additional power cord for a new hard drive I added to my despktop and I decided to use this to split one of them. I use this with my primary hard drive the boots and runs my computer. Have had zero issues since hooking this up. I have a 550 Watt powers upply with 3 internal hard drives and have seen no power issues by using this splitter. Wonder how many of these I could use?! |
