![]() Samsung Solstice a887 Phone (AT&T) $299.99 The Samsung Solstice is a well designed phone. It hits on every mark. I couldn't be happier with my purchase. Screen: Beautiful Sound quality: Excellent Interface: Easy to use! Touch Screen: Responsive Battery Life: Good My favorite part about the solstice is the intuitive interface. There is almost no learning curve. Just play with it a bit and you will have it figured out in no time. Some reviewers have mentioned problems with the speaker phone, however I have not experienced that. My speaker phone is loud and clear. I love that I am not tied to an AT&T data plan with this phone. My only complaint is the included wallpapers. You can NOT delete them and most of them are hideously ugly and when the phone is locked they randomly display. ![]() Samsung LN46A650 46-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LCD HDTV with Red Touch of Color $2,099.99 I'm a little late with this review since we bought the tv a year ago, but I just wanted to voice my opinion of how much I love our TV! We researched hdtv's for a long time and we knew that Samsung made the very best! Now I am somewhat tech-savvy but really I think anyone can tell that Samsung is the best. If you don't believe me, go to your nearest Best B** or other electronics retailer. Look at the TV's on the walls and then look to see which screen seems closer to black and which colors look more true to life? The answer will be Samsung every time! Now for someone who isn't all that tech savvy but wants to buy a great tv here's what to look for: Contrast Ratio- This is what makes the screen seem look black. If you go to your local WalM*** or such place you will see that they have very cheap hdtv's... Even those these tv's are hdtv's, they mostly junk! Yes, I am aware that you can buy Samsungs there, but look at the specs. The contrast ratio may only be 2000:1. 1080p- This is going to give you a much better picture than a 740p. When we visited a friends house they had just bought an hdtv, but the screen was horribly "pixelated". It was awful! You will not get this with the Samsung. The picture is clear and so life-like its amazing! 120hz- The 120hz really does make a difference in fast squences. Other hdtv's tend to get blurry when there is some fast action... but not this Samsung! We have never had an issue with the screen being blurry. I also really love the design and color of this particular tv. It's very modern and the red is a great little touch. Not long after purchasing the tv, we had family over and were watching a movie. Our relatives (who own an hdtv) thought the movie was blu-ray because of how amazing the image quality was... They couldn't believe it was just the normal dvd! You cannot beat the quality of Samsung tvs! Plus the price on Amazon will beat anyone else, and the shipping was great. It was fast, the people were very courteous and they even hooked everything up. As far as the size of the tv, our couch is fairly far away from the tv and the 46 inch is the perfect size! I can't say enough great things about this tv. HOWEVER, the only thing I will say is that if you are considering spending this much on a TV you may want to consider going with one of Samsungs new LED tv's. On Amazon they really aren't too much more and they are even more amazing!! We're considering buying one and putting this 46in one in our bedroom! But if you don't want to spend more then you should defintely buy this tv. Like I said before we've had the tv for over a year and we have no regrets. ![]() Samsung LN52B750 52-Inch 1080p 240 Hz LCD HDTV with Charcoal Grey Touch of Color $2,699.00 I've owned this TV for around six weeks... Could not be happier with it. The picture quality is perfect pretty much out of the box, although there are a few preset video/audio types which fine tune it based upon what you're watching (e.g. sport, vs movie). I use the DLNA features extensively, streaming movies from my Mac to the TV. I use the wired Ethernet port built in, however there is a wireless option which I have not tried. It's perfectly happy streaming 1080p video over DLNA and the interface to manage the data isn't horrible either. I paired it with a Samsung HD-BD3252 HT system, which rounds out the setup pretty nicely. The audio from the TV as default is pretty good, but the HT addition really sets it apart. ![]() Samsung LN40B550 40-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV with Red Touch of Color $949.00 Nobody could even touch the Amazon price and I was very satisfied with my 40 inch Samsung. But a few months after the warranty ended the picture got noticeably worse and the unit would turn on sometimes and other times would not. The repairs cost $250 and the 2 shops I visited told me this was a common problem (power supply and picture board) with Samsung TVs. I'll buy on Amazon again but not a Samsung product. |
