Purchased the product from P.C. Richard. It worked fine when I set it up and played a standard DVD. Decided to do the firmware update (product came with 2.0 installed; updated to 2.1) and once it updated, the home screen became entirely green and the DVD playback was discolored. Called Panasonic support and did numerous troubleshooting; nothing was solved. They ended up saying that I should not have updated the player, which is illogical to me since the manual itself states to update the player's firmware when they are available. Got a SECOND BD player and the exact same thing happened. I did not bother testing out a DVD on it. I went straight ahead to the firmware update and updated the player. Once again, screen was entirely green. I have checked online and did not find any instances of this happening after updating to 2.1. I purchased the Sony BDS360 instead, at Best Buy, and it updated fine and it is working as it should.
