![]() Lawry's Perfect Blend Seasoning and Rub: Chicken and Poultry Net Weight 24.5 oz (1.53 lb) Restaurant / Food Service Size Shaker Container $0.00 This is the most amazing combination of spices that can be used on chicken and pork (though they have a different pork formula, we use this and it tastes great). Lawry's has stopped making it in smaller sizes--just this industrial size. They also sell it it Costco and Sam's, according to their site. Big size or small size, my spice cabinet is incomplete without this. Just add it to the chicken before grilling, baking, or frying--it's that easy. It's great--order it--you won't be sorry! ![]() Rub with Love Chicken Rub By Tom Douglas, 3.5 Ounce $6.95 As an avid cook and spice mix experimenter, my hat is off to Chef Tom and his 'Spice Girls' for creating a world-class chicken spice. This is one tangy and flavorful mix that blows the doors off anything similar one could find at a supermarket. Primary notes are paprika and brown sugar, but what my nose smells first is ancho chile and star anise. This mix creates a light crust on the food and colors it brilliantly red. Surprisingly, it's also very good on the 'heavier', red-fleshed fish like salmon. Highly recommended along with Chef Tom's other standout product, Chef Tom Douglas Rub With Love Salmon Rub. ![]() Rub with Love Pork Rub by Tom Douglas, 3.5 Ounce $6.95 As a spice mix fan, I have to give a strong thumbs-up for Chef Tom's Pork Rub. The dominant notes in this mix are cumin, coriander, and chile. This isn't a hot mix per se - if you want to kick things up a notch, I'd recommend adding a dash of cayenne - but it is excellent. Only the two standout mixes that Chef Tom sells: Chef Tom Douglas Rub With Love Salmon Rub and Chef Tom Douglas Rub With Love Chicken Rub are better. This is best on baby back ribs, lamb chops, and pork roast. I only remove a star because the mix isn't that versatile: it's not particularly suited for spicing up soup, chicken, or fish. ![]() Barbecue! Bible : Sauces, Rubs, and Marinades, Bastes, Butters, and Glazes $12.95 Some very unique taste combinations. There has been a lot of rain and I haven't barbecued as much as I would have liked to. Instead, I have taken advantage of the glazes and butters, which has been fun and tasty. I would definitely recommend this book to a friend--its just not the same old thing! |
