![]() Fisher-Price Friendly Firsts Smart Response Musical Mobile $40.99 We got this as a gift last year for our then 3 month old at Christmas. We loved it as a mobile, but when she started sitting up we've been using it with the mobile off just for the music. Now she is one and I've noticed that if I don't turn on the music sometimes she does it herself! The buttons are easy for her to push and very colorful. She even taught me that if you press the same button again the music goes off! That may have been in the directions but I didn't read them. I think we've changed the batteries out twice in the last 10 months so that's not too bad considering the music plays one round almost every night. ![]() Panasonic RP-HT21 Lightweight Headphones with XBS port for increased bass response $9.99 There's probably not much point in criticizing audio quality on headphones that retail for $4.95. So I'll just objectively point out that these Panasonic RP-HT21s are slightly below par compared to the similar headphones that came with my 2003 Panasonic SL-SX420 MP3 CD player -- a little weaker and a tad less detail (the foam padding flaked off quicker, too). So yes, there is some degree of variance in low-end headphones, even of the same size and brand. The undemanding ear should find these perfectly fine, though. They sure look and feel decent. But price has no bearing on ergonomics, and methinks the earbuds on this unit are angled inward a few degrees too far. Consequently, they feel a little annoying to wear. Past experience and other Amazon reviews suggest that the Sony headphones in this price range sound a little worse, but score a little higher for comfort. Overall, it's a wash. ![]() Armed Response $6.99 A very nice print of this classic 1986 actioner starring David Carradine and Lee Van Cleef with a nice turn by Mako as the head villian. Ross Hagen, Michael Berryman, Laurene Landon and Lois Hamilton also turn in good performances. Add it to your collection today. |
