The ear can not hear over 25-30KHz, therefore 60-70KHz would be ideal. Unfortunately there is no 65KHz standard, but 88.2KHz or even 96KHz is not too far from the optimal rate. 192KHz is way off the mark. It brings about higher distortions, bigger data files, increased processing costs, and all that for no up side! People that think that more samples are better, and that digital is only an approximation, do not understand the fundamentals of digital audio.

There are 678 pages of subjects. Jones and Wilson cover almost every possible subject. The book appears intimidating in size and scope. However, it is an easy read because subjects can be covered in one page. Just open to any page and read for 15 minutes and put it down if you desire.

I don't use my 6.1 suuround sound system that much any more. Instead I set my dvd player's audio to 2.1 surround sound and use these speakers. No need in turning on a 400 watt receiver and 200 watt sub-woofer, when I can get excellent sound out of these speakers and save on my electric bill. I love these speakers; they sound fantastic. I use them with my computer, dvd player, tv and video game consoles. I like listening to music on my laptop with these speakers when I have backyard cookouts. Please be aware though, that these are not small portable speakers, that I would want to lug around across town or take business trips. I brought these speakers five months at $96, at the current price of $83 these speakers are a great buy.
