Fast forward a year and I put in NetGear WiFi at home for $65. I bought another CC WiFi radio and after 2 days of fiddling around - I called C Crane and in 2 minutes of phone help - I was listening. I listen maybe 2 hours a day - WBBM, WFMT (which had a weak signal where I live), and WGN in Chicago; a lot out of town stations (in places like Tulsa nad DC - where I used to live); a lot of BBC + CBC music and news sites and some ambiant sound//music sites. I have sleep apnea and have tried the "nature sounds" feeds but there is something about a wolf howling amidst a sea of calming cricket sounds after about a half a hour that just doesn't work! My biggest complaint is the remote - one can't scan my pre-set stations like I can on my shortwave portables. You have 99 user pre-set choices on the remote. On the front of the radio - 3 hot button selectors - for me WBBM, KWGS-FM and WFMT-FM. I often manually set my radio for BBC World Service for their 7am news (our midnight here in Chicago). I signed up for Reciva updates - but haven't built the MY STATIONS feature with it. I have had very few problems with signals dropping unless from an obscure web site. AOL has multiple decent radio genres available - which I enjoy. US TV seems to be sub par this Fall and I find myself reading more and enjoying music and BBC talk radio. This was a good investment. C Crane needs to build a portable version for those who travel a lot and have hotel/motel WiFi access. Before all the car industry collapses - supposedly GM Delco was looking into a WiFi option for car radios - but I guess this option may be kicked back a few years... ![]() Power Record--Schedule Automatic Recordings of Internet Radio--Listen When It's Convenient--Instantly Record All Streaming Audio $49.95 Set Power Record to record automatically at scheduled times, and listen later at your convenience.
