This is a very fun, creative toy. It keeps the kids occupied for a good while. BUT the cars burn through batteries. One play session is enough to make the cars too weak to climb the bridge. I tried rechargeable batteries but they are not strong enough to make the cars climb the hills. Also, when we first bought the toy, the cars with fresh batteries would go very fast. It was fun to watch them go nuts, jump the track and drive over each other. But over time, even with fresh batteries, the cars got slower and weaker. I noticed fibers building up around the tire "axles" (even though we were running the cars only on the track on bare hardwood floors). I thought that may be the problem. I worked hard to get the fibers out, but it did not help the cars' performance. I do not recommend this toy.

I don't know if I got a bad egg or what, but the power supply didn't work out of the box, and two track pieces were broken. The track felt delicate to me and I was afraid I was going to break it putting it together. I had another power supply laying around that was the same amp and wattage so I tried that. The cars worked for about 5 minutes. But they went so fast that even I couldn't feather the trigger well enough to control the cars. But then the 5 minutes was up and it was dead as a doornail. Bad luck? Maybe, but the speed when it worked was too fast to have fun.
