![]() Machine Quilting Made Easy $12.95 I have been hand quilting for several years, this was very labor intensive, not to mention time consuming. I have admired machine quilted items for a long time, but felt that I never had the time to learn this method. I have read many books on the subject, but after reading Machine Quilting Made Easy, I gained the confidence to try. It took a little practice, however this book gave me the tools to get started. I can now machine quilt two or more quilts in the time that it took to hand quilt one. I highly recommend this product. ![]() Crazy Quilting - The Complete Guide $29.99 Michler's Crazy Quilting, the Complete Guide, offers a nice overview of crazy quilt techniques. Quite a bit of the book is dedicated to the finishing stitches which was somewhat disappointing to me - I wanted just the crazy quilting techniques. I turn to Judith Montano's Elegant Stitches for stitchwork. That said, having both books will give you a complete library for this form of quilting. By the way - I love spiral-bound hard-back books! ![]() Fiskars 95237097 3-Piece Quilting Set $53.20 As a beginner at quilting, this is the perfect starter kit. The rotary blade cuts fabric like butter (6 layers with ease!). Clear wide ruler makes measuring easy and the mat is double-sided for double the fun. Only thing is that the product I received looked different that the one pictured. Mat is yellow/green and the rotary cutter didn't have the same handle. Not sure it that matters to you, but I was pleasantly surprised that my supplies are just as cute as my quilt! ![]() Quilting For Dummies (For Dummies (Sports & Hobbies)) $21.99 I have several "For Dummies" series books and they have all been clear, comprehwnive, well organized, well...everything you want in a book. This one is no exception. I'm very pleased with it. I am a beginner (if not an actual dummy) when it comes to quilting. |
