![]() Third and a Mile: The Emergence of the Black Quarterback $24.95 I am a woman who loves football! High school, college, pro, Pop Warner, you get the picture. I have Steve McNair to thank for that. Seasons 1991-1994 at Alcorn State University were the most thrilling and historic. One of the condensed games on this DVD shows Alcorn vs. Southern University when Steve McNair broke Ty Detmer's NCAA total offense record. Great segment. I was there! Watching that segment brings back all of the emotions of that game. The ability to re-live Steve McNair out there scrambling, making passes and making history at my alma mater, Alcorn State University, brings me to tears. Not tears of sadness but tears of joy. He was a great athlete and Miss Lucille's son. Gone too soon. Though I have yet to watch the other condensed games and interviews, I can still say that this DVD is a must-have for any football fan, especially from the historical stand point of the Black Quarterback. I wish there were more like this. I would love to see a full DVD of Steve McNair's collegiate games in this condensed format. Get busy producers! ![]() Donovan McNabb (Football Superstars) $30.00 Drafted second overall by the Philadelphia Eagles in 1999, quarterback Donovan McNabb has enjoyed a productive NFL career. In 2004, the five-time Pro Bowler led the Eagles to their first Super Bowl appearance since 1980. Despite losing to the New England Patriots, McNabb threw for 357 yards, the third-highest total in Super Bowl history. McNabb is one of only four Eagles quarterbacks to have thrown for 3,000 yards in consecutive seasons. In addition, he ranks second behind Ron Jaworski in career playoff wins by an Eagle, with eight. In 2002, McNabb was named the recipient of the Wanamaker Award, presented annually to the athlete or team that has done the most to reflect credit upon Philadelphia and their team or sport during the previous year. Off the field, McNabb's foundation raises awareness for diabetes research and prevention. ![]() Best Of Times $2.99 This movie came out when I was in my early 20's. Robin Williams and Kurt Russell were great in the this movie. Now that I am in my mid 40's I myself am looking at going back in time one more time on the gridiron. Good story about redemption and getting a second chance. One for your private football movie collection. |
