 IlluStory Make Your Own Story Kit $21.95 My 6 year old daughter got this as a Christmas gift and she and my 8 year old son decided to do it together. He was the author and she the illustrator. It was a great family acivity and the company was wonderful. My son spelled his cousins name differently on 2 pages and they caught it and actually called me personally to check. The finally copy was adorable and it made a wonderful gift for their grandfather who cried when he recieved it. I would definitely do this again!  Sell Your Book on Amazon: The Book Marketing COACH Reveals Top-Secret "How-to" Tips Guaranteed to Increase Sales for Print-on-Demand and Self-Publishing Writers $14.95 This book is a great how-to guide to selling your book on the major bookseller Amazon. The author obviously knows his stuff. Brent Sampson takes us step-by-step through the process of ways to marketing your book on Amazon. I am still digesting the information in this remarkable book and I think my book sales have improved as a result. I am newly published and eager to learn how to market my book. This book is like my seeing-eye dog leading me through the Amazon morass. For a new author, trying various things to get noticed are a bit daunting. In this book, the author has used a star system to rate the various techniques an author can do to market his/her book. He also explains why he rates one technique high and others lower. During the 27 years I served in the United States Air Force, the people I served with used a system fo regulations and Technical Orders which demonstrated efficient and approved ways to get things done. Now that I am out of the Ari Force and working hard to market my book on the world's largest retailer, this book serves as my guide to the right way to do so. Brent Sampson also recommends authors tell people to go to Amazon and write 5 star reviews for their books. He even asks the reader to write a five star review for "Sell Your Book on Amazon." I am happy to comply with his request, and at the same time, follow his advice that I sign my review with a plug for my own book. Ed Benjamin, Col. I really liked the brevity of the chapters -- this makes it an excellent reference material for scientific writing. The writers do have great sense of humor, which makes the reading more enjoyable. I gave it 3 stars because I had much higher expectations for this book after reading all the great reviews. I would strongly recommend a book of its kind to everyone in the sciences, but it does not have to be this one. |
