![]() PlayStation 3 Dualshock 3 Wireless Controller $54.99 When Sony came into the video game scene many years ago with the PSX aka PSOne, they created one of the best controllers ever made. The shoulder buttons are very comfortable and easy to press within a split second, great for games that require fast reaction time. The four face buttons are spaced perfectly, and the overall design of the controller fits the hand perfectly. Sony hit the bulls-eye with the PSOne dualshock controller, and they transferred this design over to the PS2. The design was still so popular that Sony could not resist transferring it over again. The added benefit of the dualshock controller on the PS3 is no more wires! The controller easily syncs with the console and has a great battery life as well. The controller also comes packaged with a USB cable that you can use to charge the controller with in case of long gaming sessions where the battery may begin to run low. The major reason that I prefer this controller overall the other controllers that have been released is because of the directional pad. The d-pad is perfect on the Sony controllers. It allows for precision and accuracy in every genre of gaming. I was disappointed when Sony launched the PS3 and its controller lacked rumble capability, however, with this new release the dualshock design is back and better than ever. ![]() PlayStation 2 Console - Black $99.99 I first bought the thick PS2 for $200 and then the slim one for $120. The first one had issues reading early games, the slim one read everything, though worked a little warmer. The PS2 is a very solid system, it doesn't break in my experience. The only problem is that you have to buy memory cards and there's not a Playstation network like you see in the PS3 and PSP. Still, you can play online against other. I think this is the best console ever because of the games, resale value, and how the PS2 is still in production after about 9 years. ![]() Playstation 1 PS1 PSX Console $99.99 I know those are big words but I think I have the best memories of great games on this system than any other. There are just so many amazing games for it. I like the original version of the ps1 better than the smaller version ( I have both). It happens to be my favorite looking system also. I could go on and on about the reasons I love this system but I'll keep it short and sweet. Amazing variety of games: rpgs, action, sports, puzzlers, simulation, stealth action, etc. Maybe in 10 years my favorite system will be the xbox 360 but for now its the ps1. ![]() PlayStation 3 80 GB $299.99 I bought my PS3 shortly after it released in 2006. I've had it for 3 years and have put a LOT of hours on it since I got it. I knew at the time that buying an original release model meant a good chance of having problems with it. It locked up on me once or twice over the past 3 years, but nothing a push of the reset button wouldn't fix. Sad news today though, I have experienced the yellow light of death. Many Xbox fanboys might point and laugh, but considering the fail rate of the release model 360's, I say that this thing did pretty good. It had a decent run and has served me well over the past 3 years. It survived well beyond its warranty and I got good use out of its many features, most of which the Xbox does not have.(i.e. blue ray, extra usb ports, rechargable controllers, camera card reader, and free online play and internet browsing) The death of the system is the only complaint I can come up with for it, so I am planning on buying a new one since they are only $299 now as apposed to $599 at release. It costs a little more than the 360, but with the extra features, you get what you pay for. When you consider buying an Xbox and a Blu-ray player, your going to spend $300 anyway. |
