I'm so glad I purchased this book. Kelby is funny, direct and easy to understand. He brings humor, organization and ease into the world of PhotoShop. This book is so well organized. You can go step by step or venture into any chapter and start right from there. Kelby even makes the photographs used in this book available to you so you can work along with the book at home. This was incredibly helpful to me; as I learn more from doing than just reading. I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking to learn the basics of PhotoShop. I'm also planning on purchasing some of his other books.

The independent verification service is obscenely slow. The process and submission requirements are significant and feedback is non-existent. Bottom line -- better to go with a different product, or pay for a non-student version if you can -- than to subject yourself to this process. Shame on you, Abobe. Everyone, even students, have enough demands on their time that we do not need more, seemingly fruitless, ones added by a damn software company.
