![]() Bags on Board Regular Bag Refill Pack, 120 Biodegradable Bags $9.99 These bags are really convenient to have when walking my dogs especially when used in conjunction with the bag dispenser. They are inexpensive also. ![]() PediPaws Pet Nail Trimmer $19.99 After reading the mixed reviews of this product on Amazon, I decided to go ahead and make the purchase. The included instructions were easy enough to understand and my dog was acclimated to this process in three days. The key is to stay calm during the trimming process and trim every few days. This will prevent the nail from getting too long and will make the process shorter. I would recommend this product for those who are "pack leaders" over their dogs. I don't think I would want to try this product on a cat. ![]() Petmate Deluxe Fresh Flow Pet Fountain Medium, Bleached Linen $39.99 We purchase this item for our two cats, trying to break one of them from sitting in the shower. Initially we were please and the cats loved it...but after a few months this item just didn't hold up. Cleaning it every other day was miserable too. There has to be something better out there. The pump in this one just ISN'T STRONG ENOUGH and maintainence is MISERABLE! ![]() Drinkwell Platinum Pet Fountain $69.99 Sometimes you luck out and other times you get burned. I followed the directions exactly and the pump was not quiet. When I grasped the inlet valve located in front of the pump strainer the vibration noise lessened so I attached a vice grip and that made the noise tolerable but scared off the cat. Now I've devised a lo fi solution consisting of a 2 inch thick rubber gasket , a saucer shaped rock and 2 pieces of light switch insulator material which works just as well but the cat is still wary. I've noticed that replacement charcoal filters are expensive and need installation every 4-6 weeks. The power supply for this is 9 watts supplying a 2 watt motor and it's not direct current but alternating current which can also explain the motor noise. If you run this thing 24/7 expect to use 78 kilowatts per year or 6.5 kw per month. 6.5 kw is how much power usage I average per day. If you only run the motor 8 hours a day you can cut those numbers by 67% but still an ongoing not insignificant expense. Let's talk about maintenance. You're supposed to totally break the unit down/including the pump once a week and clean it. How much is your time worth? and do you have enough chores to do as it is? are valid questions to ask yourself in this busy time we live in. I think this unit should sell for 20 bucks as it currently is and at 60 bucks is an absolute scam. Will I be sending mine back to Amazon ? If my cat takes to it perhaps I'll just eat the expense but if not it's going back for sure. |
