![]() Microsoft˘î .NET Framework 1.1 Class Library Reference Volumes 1-4: System (Pro-Developer) (v. 1-4) $149.99 Hey, if you prefer Hard copy (which I do) over scrolling back and forth in On-line help, this is for you (and me). However, was hoping for more examples. ![]() Online Retrieval: A Dialogue of Theory and Practice $62.00 This book is an excellent resource for those interested in Online Searching. I am a graduate student in Library Science and have found this book to be a valuable tool for learning to use online databases, such as Dialogue and Lexis-Nexis. Very helpful. I recommend this book for academic librarians and others interested in internet searching. ![]() Exploring the Digital Library: A Guide for Online Teaching and Learning (Online Teaching and Learning Series (OTL)) $28.00 It is very understandable that the book should emanate from Athabasca University. By sheer geographic necessity, that uni would be acutely interested in distance learning, aka online teaching and learning. The book is directed towards librarians and academics in any field, who might be interested in promulgating their data and research to a potentially global audience. The book makes clear that you do not have to be as physically isolated as Athabasca. Indeed, you could be in a megalopolis, but still face issues of data distribution. Plus, you do not have to specialise or be an expert in computing to understand the book. The narrative deliberately minimises low level computing details, that are best left to people in that field. |
