I'm Not Dreaming of You
I'm Not Dreaming of You

$10.49
While "I'm Not Dreaming of You" is a slightly danceable single from the album 'Six Feet Underground', Nevarakka has turned it into a smashing, club-worthy masterpiece. The Nevarakka mix alone, makes this MCD worth the money.

The extended club version is pretty much the same as the original, maintaining the same bpmbut is a little longer with some extra sounds. While on the whole enjoyable, it seems to be just an extended version of the original and not much more.

Aimee is a cool slowish track which Intuition tweaked slightly from the album version. But it isn't really that compelling, with the album version is probably better.

The other remix of Aimee on the disc is gorgeous, but a super-long instrumental intro requires a little too much patience to listen all the way through, especially after hearing Nevarakka's pumping version of "I'm Not Dreaming of You."

If you wish that the album 'Six Feet Underground' had more dance-friendly tracks, this MCD and the "Turn Me On" MCD will definitely, more than satisfy your thirst.

He is,as always, mesmerizing! The story is a standard soapy pot-boiler that borrows rather heavily in my opinion from "Casablanca". But Scacchi is no Bergman and Smits did not compel me to root for him, nor did I see in him the nobility I sensed from Victor Lazlo.
But D'Onofrio smolders! He suffers beautifully and when he crashes the party I thought of "Wuthering Heights". (What a Heathcliff that man would make!)
How could any woman turn him away?

No Part of Nothin' is a highly accessible album of contemporary Bluegrass. While there is not an official front man to the band and all members participate as songwriter or lead singer at some point, the bulk of the songs were written and sung by guitarist Greg Alexander. Most of the songs have a blend of traditional bluegrass shibboleths and modern day references that combine in a way that is neither self consciously hip nor ostentatiously old fashioned. A song with a title like Burn the Clutch Out seems to epitomize the approach for me. While the musicianship is tight it has an off the cuff vibe that leads you to believe that if the band were to play a song ten times in a row you'd likely hear ten different versions which is one of the things that appeals to me most about the album; the distinct impression that the band would have been sitting around playing these songs whether they were in the studio or on the back porch.
