![]() Applied Longitudinal Data Analysis: Modeling Change and Event Occurrence $74.95 Excellent book in general. Makes a complicated subject easy to understand. Great examples and the website helps with programming for SAS. ![]() Power Hungry $1.99 Even though the science, even in theory, is mostly bogus, I find that this show is a welcome relief from a lot of what we see on television today. The characters are surprisingly well developed and well played for such a new show. And, of course it's tons of fun! It keeps you guessing too. All in all, I'd say it's not perfect, but it's certainly fun to watch. Five stars for originality, character dynamic, acting and storyline. ![]() An Occurrence At Owl Creek Bridge (Forgotten Books) $6.30 This is an enjoyable collection of short stories. And they really are short. As I listened to them, I recalled reading a few of them in high school English class and you probably will too. Bierce is a master storyteller with a great command of the English language and its various literary devices. This is especially exemplified in The Occurence at Owl Creek Bridge which is his most famous short story (and the one you probably read or will read in high school). While a few stories fall short of the aforementioned, it is an overall good collection and a fast delightful read (or listen as in my case). While not an English scholar to be sure, I must speculate that Bierce was a trailblazer in his story content (horror and bordering science fiction in Moxon's Master) and his surprise, 'twisted' endings (that now most movies incorporate ad nauseaum). ![]() Historic Print (L): [Tex. - Galveston - landing a tarpon - exciting sport - a daily occurrence at Galveston" $57.00 Historic Print (L): [Tex. - Galveston - landing a tarpon - exciting sport - a daily occurrence at Galveston"This is a museum quality, reproduction print on premium paper with archival/UV resistant inks.
