First it should be said that Blombergs book is good. In our age of materialism honest reflection is needed, and the author does indeed seem to have that starting point. One of the great strengths of the book is when Blomberg tells about his own way of relating to possesions and money. The weaknesses, though, are a few. The biblical material is so big that all of the comments tend to be too brief. I would have an preferred an in-depth treatment of e.g. all the passages that spoke of riches gained through unrighteousness etc. The way the Health & Wealth Gospel interprets some passages is thus not refuted convincingly. But as a whole, the book is good and well worth reading. Above all, the reader can apply it immediately after having finished it.
