 Pilot $1.99 Just finished watching the pilot and overall, I liked it. I think it's a show I can really get into. The look of the show is great. It's what you would expect from a vampire show with the deep colors, especially red and people wearing a lot of black. It's hard to comment on the story yet. But it seems like it could get very deep. Each character seems to have a lot of issues to deal with on top of the every day high school stuff, and there is already plenty of conflict between a lot of the characters. Conflict between Good Brother and Evil Brother, one girl gets jealous of another and has to deal with it, and brother and sister have to cope with the loss of their parents, relationship issues...it's all here, but now with dak vampire storylines mixed in. I'd say this show would very highly appeal to teenagers but can be enjoyed by anyone. I also love the classic CW formula of playing great music in the show to deepen the emotional experience and to add to the insight of the characters. I'm looking forward to seeing how the story will play out. I don't have any overall expectations or comparisons to make because I have not ever seen any of the Twilight movies or read the books and the same goes for the True Blood series as well. So, I have nothing to compare this too. I'll update my review when I get through a few more episodes. |
