![]() Playboy: Girls of MySpace $9.99 Almost all of these women are fake. Some beautiful faces and other features ruined by implants (as well as tattoos, piercings, ...). One natural beauty in the extras. (The Wal-Mart collection was almost all good; the McDonald's was half worthwhile.) Recommended only for those who like plastic. ![]() MySpace Marketing: Creating a Social Network to Boom Your Business $19.99 When it comes to social marketing, MySpace has got to be at the top of the class. It's actually the fifth most viewed website on the Internet. The site has over 150 million members, 87% of which are over the age of 18. Moreover, it's set up and ease of use is perfect for the small business, niche market entrepreneur, or artist. The sad truth is that most people tend to create a MySpace page and then leave it in hopes that potential customers, clients, or other interested individuals will somehow find their way to this underwhelming profile page and feel compelled to find out more. Used properly, MySpace can be a low cost promotional machine. Underused is a waste of time and effort. MySpace Marketing goes step by step through the process from registering and creating a profile through adding blog entries and bulletins to adding applications and connecting to those members who fit your marketing profile. While aimed primarily at those new to MySpace, those already on MySpace will likely find quite a few tips and hints to further focus their marketing efforts. ![]() Stealing MySpace: The Battle to Control the Most Popular Website in America $27.00 This book has been researched thoroughly, written superbly, reads quickly, and overall a very good business history of MySpace. It's clear from the very first paragraph that the author has put a lot of effort into her subject. Stealing MySpace is a great read. The writing moves along at a very good pace. On occasion, the author makes the story downright exciting. That's an impressive feat considering the subject matter. The focus is obviously the social website MySpace and this book is a 360 degree look at the goings on in a company that didn't have a strong business model (and some may say wasn't very ethical either), but managed to stumble upon a very successful idea. The reader learns of the trials and tribulations of upper management, how they struggled, fought, got lucky, and didn't get what they thought they deserved. It's a glimpse behind the scenes of how a successful venture in the eyes of the public and Wall Street had to struggle, beg for resources, and still fall short of best practices. Evidently, you don't need to do everything perfectly to succeed in this business. As rich as the people involved got, they still experienced disappointments and frustrations. The same problems that occur at middle management happen at the executive level in exactly the same intensity and frequency. ![]() Amp Your MySpace Page $24.99 Some people need to read a book to figure out how to do something...I'm one of those people and this book helped. It's easy to read and I made changes to myspace webpage as I worked through the book. I'm still not an expert or pro...or good at it, but I got started. |
