You have just been murdered reflects the 60s. One of Steed's millionaire friends invites him and Emma to a party. The waitresses are dressed like playboy bunnies. He enthusiastically pursues Emma at the party, then the writer drops that thread. Millionaires pay 1 million each NOT to be murdered. Emma has a great water fight with one of the henchmen. "lead me to your taker, or take me to your leader!" Steed rushes after her. She is unknowingly carrying the case with a bomb as well as money in it! "Nathaniel J. Needle," says the suave villain. "In a haystack!" Diana Rigg's delivery was witty and impeccable. Positive Negative Man has far more wit. scientists are blasted through ceilings. What is the mysterious defunct Project 90? Why are all the scientists associated with it dying? An abducted Emma warns Steed "I'm sending out 40,000 volts of electricity!" "I attribute that to your magnetic personality!" Great tag scene. Steed is stuck to his Bentley, and Emma goes to his assistance, only to be welded with kissing distance of Steed, much to his delight and her distress! This was the wittiest of the last 7 Avengers episodes. Tony Williamson wrote the wonderful Too Many Christmas Trees and Postiive Negative Man. LIke Roger Marshall and Philip Levene his scripts were delightful.

Mmmm, not what I expected, but still interesting. Way too much backstory on city of Richmond, all the lawyers, Wythe's relationship with Jefferson, etc. I wanted more details on the investigation and trial itself; I guess there was not much info to be given so they went mega-backstory mode.
