![]() Victory at Sea $14.98 Well familiar with the series. Also own on VHS. This DVD played in a 1080p upconverting DVD player looks very clean and crisp relative to the VHS copy. Viewers should maintain proper perspective when assessing the video quality in that the vast majority of the source films were produced during the late 1930s and early 1940s by combat camera personnel from various military organizations worldwide. Considering that fact, this DVD is excellent. Regarding the content of the program, the DVD includes all original episodes from the VAS series; without editing. A worthy addition to the video library of any WWII or Naval Warfare history buff. ![]() Poor Boy's Game $2.99 For those of you who have no trouble with same gender sexual relations and don't mind having this shoved in your face when you are expecting a more thoughful movie based on the reviews of others, then you might like the movie. My copy went directly into the garbage after finding Hollywood's obsession with re-educating me a bit too offensive. But then I should have known better given the cast. ![]() Doctors in the Movies: Boil the Water and Just Say Aah $34.95 Everything about this book is entertaining -- its theme (we've always had strong opinions about doctors), its subject matter (movies, good and bad), and its style (peter dans has a wonderful dry sense of humor). It's also an enlightening book. It lets us look back at what our standards were--for doctors and for movies--and proves once again that times change and life is much more fun if we don't take ourselves too seriously. Doctors and movie buffs will enjoy this book most of all. Everyone else will find it a great read or a great gift. ![]() Poor Boy's Game $9.99 For those of you who have no trouble with same gender sexual relations and don't mind having this shoved in your face when you are expecting a more thoughful movie based on the reviews of others, then you might like the movie.
