![]() Fundamentals of Menu Planning $65.00 I have been doing a study on menu development, design, costing, and many other aspects of menus and marketing. This may be a good text if you have a lecture to go along with it but standing by itself it is not as informative nor as specific as others offered on Amazon. I strongly suggest checking it out at the local library or get it via inter-library loan. I would not recommend buying it unseen. Other books cost less and provide more detailed and very specific information needed by someone preparing a menu. ![]() Menu Decanting Pourer, Premium $49.90 Menu's patented Decanting Pourer filters, splits, and oxygenates the wine as you pour. Goodbye to decanters and too many bottles opened before dinner, and hello to a grand taste sensation - even when the wine is an everyday table variety. Drip-free and easy to use.In the series of Decanting Pourers you will find:Decanting Pourer, SelectionDecanting Pourer, VignonDecanting Pourer, PremiumDecanting Pourer, VintageDecanting Pourer, SuperiorDecanting Pourer, RoyalPatentee: Torben Flanbaum ![]() 365 Quick, Easy & Inexpensive Dinner Menus $19.95 I bought this book a few years ago. It it very hit and miss. I tried a few recipes that were really good, but I think some may be missing ingredients or instructions. I made an orange cake that I had to throw out! Then again I made a banana pineapple cake that is now a family classic. Some of the recipes also seem to be repeats or only very slight various of recipes earlier in the book. Also I really don't think we need recipes for things like "ham and cheese sandwiches". Some of the sidedishes are nice, good carrot salad. The recipes are organized by day, not by kind of recipe, so you have to use the index to figure out what you want to try, or flip through the whole book, which can be time consuming considering it's supposed to be a time saver. I'm just glad I bought it on the "bargain" table otherwise I might feel a little cheated. Not a bad book, just not all that great. ![]() Menu Vignon Decanting Pourer & Aerator $27.95 I bought this with high expectations as it claims to aerate wine. When i got home I could not wait to try it out. In doing a taste-test with it - I found the wine to be minimally aerated. :( I am a seasoned wine drinker and love wine toys. The menu barely increased the aromatics and did nothing to soften the tannins in the wine. I do like the design, and the packaging is good. However due to the price and lack of performance, I would not recommend it. I have since been reading a few blog reviews of other aerators and advise anyone interested in getting or gifting an aerator to quickly look for tasting results. [...] for instance ran a "wine aerator shoot-out" which was very helpful to me. |
