This is certainly a very good series of reviews of some of the world's favorite masterpieces. Although it sometimes seems repetitive because the art critics, curators, etc. interviewed describe many of the works discussed as "the most reproduced image in the history of art", or "an icon the world over", and so on, once we get past the hype and into the background of the image all the stories are compelling and well told. I am glad to have my copy in English because here in France they are shown with a dubbed over narration which makes for an unbearable cacophony of voices.

They just don't make board games like they use to. This game is fun and educational. I remember playing this game as a young kid. When I went to college, I took an art history class and remembered some of the paintings that are featured in this board game. I thought my 10 year old would like it and she does; so does my 7 year old son.

How often to you get to read a book where you laugh aloud while reading? Not that often. This book is funny. We make fun of marriage, adultery, the art of writing, even gardening. It is delightful and reminds me of Moliere.
P.S. E-mail is a central character. Another book by Francine Prose, I think, featured e mail, a son read his Mom's messages to/from her boyfriend but I do not know of other books where e mail is so crucial.
