![]() Dr. Martens Unisex 8053FDM 5 Eye Padded Collar, Gaucho Brun, 8 UK (9 Men/10 Wmn) $99.95 I recently purchased a second pair of Dr. Martens unisex 5 eye padded collar. My 1st pair lasted about 5 years and were comfortable from day 1. My new pair seems to be of equal quality. I was concerned reading that Dr. Martens are now made in China and that the new tread was inferior. While the tread design is different, I checked my old shoes and they too were made in China. Apart from the new tread design (which makes no difference whatsoever) I did notice that the size 11 shoe is larger than the old size 11 and probably more of a true US size than before. This was the best casual shoe I've ever owned and still is. ![]() Dr. Martens Women's Nellie Boot,Green Lamper,UK 6 (US Women's 8 M) $119.95 I really can't tell you much about this boot as I just now put them on straight out of the box. But, Dr. Marten is right, they are "cute as hell". ![]() Dr. Martens Unisex 8312 FBX 4 Eye 2 D Ring Padded Collar Shoe, Bark Brun, 10 UK (11 Men/12 Wmn) $109.95 LOve these! Very comfy, however they are a bit big, but as it goes w/Docs, no half sizes and I am a definitive 8.5. So, a 9 is a bit big, but an 8 would be too small. But add some insoles and cushy socks and they're great. ![]() Dr Martens Boots 1460 Boots Black Napa Small Sizes $110.00 A little research goes a long way: though most Dr. Martens are made at facilities in China or Thailand, they do offer a Vintage line that is still made at the Northampton factory. The difference is about US$60, but absolutely worth it. The soles still have "Made In England" embossed on them and everything. Thus, when ordering DMs, read carefully - only a few styles (the 1460, 1490, and 1914 boots and the 1461 shoes) are available from England, and only in particular colors. Rule of thumb: the boots ranging to US$120 are manufactured in Asia, while the ones priced around US$180 are English. Many online retailers (including, sadly, Amazon itself) don't make the distinction. |
